Welcome to the TBRC
The Transplantation Biology Research Center
(TBRC) is a multi-disciplinary research group working at the interface
between basic science and clinical applications in transplantation
immunology. The center is housed in a research facility at the Charlestown
Navy Yard and is a unit within the Department of Surgery at the Massachusetts
General Hospital (MGH). All of the senior
researchers hold joint appointments at the Massachusetts
General Hospital and at Harvard
Medical School.
Education
Fellowships are available for M.D. and Ph.D. predoctoral and postdoctoral
trainees which permit them to participate both in research
and clinical programs in the field of transplantation. The training
program is under the direction of David H. Sachs, M.D., the director
of the TBRC at the MGH. The program faculty consists of active, funded
investigators with expertise in many areas of research related to
transplantation biology, all of whom have experience in training students
and fellows.
Research
Fellowships are available for basic science, medical and surgical
trainees which permit them to participate both in research and clinical
programs in the field of transplantation. Investigative Groups include
Cardiothoracic Transplantation,
Bone Marrow Transplantation,
